Today, we have some great tips from experts on paving blocks. Follow these three easy steps to strengthen your paving blocks and prevent grass and weeds from growing in. Let's take a look!
1. Drain the topsoil and remove weed roots.
Before starting paving blocks, always dig up the existing topsoil and level the ground to remove all grass and weed roots. This will help reduce future weed problems from the start.
2. Use a polymer-based jointing material.
We recommend using SCG's new Polymeric Joint jointing material. It's incredibly easy to use. Just open the bag and use it.
This material is blended with specially selected fine polymer sand, ensuring tight gaps and preventing weeds from growing in. Most importantly, it's excellent at preventing weeds from growing in. Simply spray it with water and it's ready to use.
3. Coat the surface with a concrete sealant.
Finally, for added protection! After the jointing material has completely set and dried, coat the paving blocks with SCG Concrete Sealant. This sealant coats both the block surface and the gaps between the blocks, acting as a protective film against weeds. This enhances the gloss and helps the color of the paving blocks last longer.
*Note: At this stage, the paving block surface must be completely dry. If the surface is not dry or the underlying layer remains moist, white stains may appear on the paving block surface.
